You can rent a nice apartment in many areas where there are T stops for much less than that. I've lived in Boston and Cambridge for many years, those prices are Beacon Hill and Back Bay levels and both areas are a hell of a lot nicer than crummy Central Square.
Why not try Davis Square? I can tell you why , because you want to live in Cambridge and have the 02138. It's not worth it man/woman, central square is not a nice place to live in.
It has nothing to do with status (OP here). It has to do with my commute and the fact that I have found it difficult to find a centrally located modern updated apartment that includes:
-No broker fee
-an academic year lease for flexibility
-furnished (turn key)
-All utilities paid + reserved covered parking
You tell me where I can find all of that for 2500 a month on a Sept 1 - May 31st lease and I'll take it. Unless you tell me Waltham or somewhere that will have me stuck in traffic on 128 for an hour each day.
Lol s**thole central square studio for 2500 a month. Are you so into status that you're willing to pay such an outrageous amount of money in a crime ridden area to have the 02138 on your mail? 2500 is too much for a 1 bed in cs let alone a studio.
Live outside of Cambridge, there is no reason to pay NYC prices to live anywhere in Cambridge.
