And good reference letters, pedigree, etc. Remind me, what journal was the coauthored article published in?
Is the paper coauthored with an advisor or a professor? I am giving less and less respect to coauthored papers. ESPECIALLY with an advisor while in grad school.

I’m loling at how much they failed. Not only did they elevate some run of the mill candidate to legitimate status because of their lame REP diversity search, it ended up costing them a line a bunch of money because she left within ONE YEAR.
All the while all she has is a PoP short article introducing some dataset coauthored is with her advisor.
I mean, good for her I guess.
Embarrassing that this is what our field has succumbed to.

Embarrassing that this is what our field has succumbed to.Thanks for saying something that I really wanted to say out loud but do not have the guts to say! It's pathetic that hiring decision is made based on color instead of merits.
