Sorry, wasn't trying to be sarcastic. Your point is well taken. Each position (esp. the executive council) should be a separate seat/election, and there should be (at least) two candidates for each seat. None of this proposing a slate with exactly as many candidates as there are seats.

Like, there's no way a dozen uncontested votes could've happened unless the association set it up. There are nearly 12K members of APSA. Are we actually to believe that there were only twelve nominations total?

They are quite open about this undemocratic procedure. The only recourse is to vote no and then show up at the annual meeting and complain.

In theory you can petition to get on the ballot. You need 50 members' signatures or something.
