has brainwashed himself, that explains the perpetual hurt/surprise/disgust he affects everywhere he goes.

He's one of the few Republicans with a spine. He could have followed the path of least resistance and opportunism like Kevin McCarthy and even onetime NeverTrumpers like J.D. Vance, but he didn't.
If you say so!
Yes, I said it because it's true, you gooseneck freak.

A chicken hawk? He's a Lt. Col who served in Iraq and Afghanistan.
You could try not being completely full of it. Just for a week or something.

Some -ignorant or a liar- said he was a chicken hawk. He isn't. People shouldn't say things that aren't true.

So opposing Trump is the easy path for a Republican politician? And Kevin McCarthy and the others kissing Trump's ring are actually the brave ones? Good to know.

Yeah, you have to be really brave to stand with the Establishment, those with all the power, those who control everything, those with all the money, etc. Truly, the brave do that.If you think Trump is somehow more of a powerful entity than the entire US Establishment, then you do not know anything about the United States government.

Again, answer the question if it's a smart career move as a Republican to vote to impeach Trump? We've seen already that it's a career ender. Tom Rice had a safe seat. So did Liz Cheney. He lost and she's going down later this summer. Kinzinger was redistricted, but he would be the GOP nominee for Governor if he had just kissed Trump's ass instead of standing up to him. All the cowardly opportunistic Republicans who used to say how awful Trump is decided they had to kiss his ass to survive. Lindsey Graham, Lyin' Ted Cruz, Lil' Marco, the whole fun loving bunch. They'd be thrilled if Trump dropped dead tomorrow, but they knew the only way to survive starting in 2016 was to pretend everything they said about him being grossly unfit -well beyond the normal criticisms of a rival- was no longer operative.
So no, actually reality is not consistent with supporting Trump being some brave rebellious stand outside of your basement.

Lowell is worried about "career" moves. That's why he can't understand the nature of power. He's operating from a selfish perspective and will do anything to keep his stature. Of course, it depends on if you care about elected office more than what the Establishment will offer you in terms of book deals, board of director positions, cushy academic postings, etc.
Lowell, you're not a very deep person, nor do I think you know very much. In fact, you seem to be a TV pundit level intellect.

So Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, Lindsey Graham, brave rebels, fighting the power, final answer?
