Though you're partially right. His best work was early in his career. He tended to excel dropping guest verses on other peoples' tracks. But his first album (The Coming) was dope throughout. It's about the only one that holds up. Once he got more famous, he lost pretty much the only shreds of artistic restraint he once had. It led in a bad direction.
