I'm going to have to go with Louis CK, but I will also accept Seinfeld and Cosby as respectable answers. Is there anyone else currently working who could be admitted to that exclusive club>

Cosby is a jailbird and Seinfeld hasn't been funny in 25 years. Louie was funny when he would take his johnson out. Otherwise meh
Cosby is a free bird these days, having been fully exonerated. Seinfeld is as funny today as he's ever been. If you can't appreciate his craft, you're not in the game. Louis still takes it out, but apparently he is more circumspect these days.

Seinfeld tours all year and just did a ton of shows in Nyc at the Beacon.
These are obviously old names and there are plenty of younger folks. But it’s all personal preferences.I started the thread hoping to hear about some younger names. Are there any working at the level of the greats named in OP? I have a theory that it takes two decades to get to that level. Look at CK's stuff from the 80s and 90s--he didn't get good until his 40s.

"Fully exonerated" is a lot of BS. He was freed on a technicality. Literally DOZENS of women came forward. And they were all of a type. What kind of a sociopath are you?

Seinfeld has never been funny. Especially as a stand up. Ovaltine?

Chris Rock wasn't funny immediately after his divorce, but his latest special is great. Chappelle is consistently great, and so is Neal Brennan, for those were Chappelle Show fans. I really can't think of any new names I like, but it may be a generational thing. The new people always sound like they're on NPR or giving a TED Talk.

He has never been funny. Even is his own show, he’s the least funny one.

And yet he's been a successful earner since his early 20s. The audience disagrees with you!But keep in mind he was writing for the other characters. You do get the sense that Larry David's the reason the show was so funny, especially after Curb.
