What's the deal with this press? Is it legit?

I met with one of their reps at the last Oxford Roundtable.
They seem pretty legit to me.
I've published a few things with them. Smooth editorial process, got the stuff in print within a couple of months.
A couple of others who I met at the Oxford Roundtable published with them as well.
Highly recommended

They are predatory. No credibility.

Highly recommendedI published with them and had no worries. I like to see new entrants in the field. There's a tendency for the established ones to pander to the status quo.

"Similarly to international law, I only started to learn the church organ at the age of 26 – although I was already a proficient pianist. After a few years of ‘teething’ with the co-ordination of 2 manuals and the pedal, I have not looked back."
Another quality sentence from the author's preface about international law.

"The essays do not pretend to be comprehensive. They are comparable neither to a textbook nor to a detailed research work. Each essay stands alone as an area of interest to the author, over which I would like to share my observations and ideas with readers."
Yup, sounds like CSP is putting out some cutting edge research.

Happy? The essays themselves look fine. Your criticism seems to be that the person was selfishly mind wandering in the preface. Who cares? it was one page long. If the essays had no citations and were also oriented around the person, I'd agree with you. But your criticisms are no big deal. That work is not any different from the essays on IL published by Routledge.
And besides, I've found plenty of OUP books where I want to strangle the author. Don't judge a book by its cover, or its publisher.
