The second is much, much more serious than the first.

No power was being transferred that day; ergo, it was impossible to disrupt any transfer of power.

Also, please do not forget that the electoral college ballots were in the boxes that day. If the insurrectionists had managed to get to them and destroy them, that would have given adequate pretext for Trump to say that the election had to be redone or something.
You might also note that there is the question of what those CL0WNS would have done if they had managed to get their hands on the legislators whom they terrorized and made flee their normal place of business.
