I know of this case. He sounds unhinged, but that never hurt a Leftist nutter. His problem is he went after the orthodoxy. Funny thing is he's Juish and gay.
conservative full prof here. I will defend tenure on contractual grounds more vocally than most of my liberal colleagues will. They are usually a little weak and easily pushed around on this stuff.
But what I think about tenure (in practice, as opposed to what I think about the concept) is entirely different. I am not sure it is justified, given how lazy my colleagues are.
Among the remnant that is the conservative faculty, my attitude is fairly common.
