   I agree that there's a personality cult around Trump, however Jeff Sessions, who Trump berated got 40% of the vote in Alabama. So that tells me that ~50% of GOP voters are rational. But resorting to MSM talking points is not going to work for a Republican primary. All Cheney has to get is a majority of that vote, which might be substantially below 50% given the number of candidates. I think she can do it if she attacks Trump on policies, not on overblown Jan 6th accusations, which most Republicans are tired of. Frankly, Jan 6th just shows more of Trump's incompetence in that he's didn't even understand that storming the capitol would not keep him in power, even if 100% successful.

   I think Liz and Pops are going about this the wrong way entirely. Rather than attack Trump from the perspective of the MSM, they should instead show how he got virtually none of his objectives done. All he did was basically play the Republican playbook to a 'T' (no pun intended) e.g. conservative judge picks, tax cuts, etc. China trade is still lopsided and there is still chaos at the border. What did he fix? And what did he do differently than any other run-of-the-mill Republican?

   ^More or less. I don't expect Cheney to run ads saying "this guy's so dumb that he couldn't even work out a decent coup plan", but it's true. There are plenty of other issues Republicans care about that she could run with. The other candidates sound to me like nutty right-wingers so it shouldn't be that great of a task to get more votes than them. But appealing to Democrats won't help in a Republican primary, sorry to say.

   There is no path for any R in criticizing orange on any dimension. He’s second only to Jesus among the base. It is an incredible, irrational phenomenon.
