If anyone watched the weird gaslighting she did all day yesterday, she kept saying she didn't know the meaning of the word, thought it meant "princess", etc. If she'd come out and said "listen, I meant *academic* prostitution," but you''re right, not cool to say that about a newly minted PhD who is female and who is criticizing my work," that would have been one thing. Doesn't explain the posting it in Tamil thing.

Sometimes I feel bad about being at the kind of school most PSR posters would turn up their noses at. Then I am reminded that most of the big-name places are filled with people like the ones you see on academic twitter, and I realize it's very nice to work with actual human beings.

Not really. Big name places have a bunch of people who just do their work, and a lot of the Twitter bigmouths are at pretty marginal places.
