I am willing to defend my home, but a government subsidy for acquiring suitable equipment would be nice.
I have over $25,000 invested in my minuteman equipment

A militiman's equipment should consist of, at minmum:
1 Battle rifle using calibers stockpiled by US government (any NATO size round will do)
1 set of body armor
1 helmet
1 set of hearing pro/comms devices
1 trauma kit
1 night vision device
10 magazines loadedThis ain't cheap.

The government should subsidize men who prepare to be militia men. This is straight forward: citizens who are doing their civic duty and buying things like AR-15s should be compensated by the government.
I agree that more guns is better, but it seems silly to subsidize guns for people that will buy them anyway. Give guns to the people with the least number of guns - minorities, immigrants, poor people, women, urbanites, etc. We need a progressive gun ownership policy.

All of the above will be in the militia, so subsidizing militia members to outfit themselves would subsidize these people, too.
