So to be clear, MS is annoyed at people knocking on her door and you are annoyed that she immediately concludes it might be gendered. And you want an apology for her jumping to such conclusion? Then she acknowledges that consensus is that it is not gendered, but she doubles down by finding another "thing" that could be gendered. And you also want an apology for that. You basically want an apology for the fact that she combines a) facts documented with large N studies (namely gendered behavior : e.g. women asked to take notes in meetings) with b) her small N experience to make unsubstantiated claims. You are basically pissed at her poor use of inference and her poor knowledge of stats? Ok, I get it now!!!! I am soooooo pissed too!!!!! we have a reputation to uphold as political scientists godammit: check your sample size! (and get a life)
Is Maya Sen going to apologize?

Maybe that's what the student did. We're making lots of assumptions here, LOL
Unless they’re throwing away half full coffee cups or a container of sweet and sour chicken, it’s embarrassing that she would consider that enough of an inconvenience to complain, let alone publicly tweet about it.

No, she would have tweeted that if true.
