Yeah, she got all hot and bothered a few years back when someone came into PSR and (mistakenly) said she was getting an endowed chair. Criticism ensued. She got an account, came on, and gave everyone the what-for.

Tweet is ridiculous because she makes it sound like it's getting worse. "Now I can't publish in ISQ and top 3 are now accepting fewer IR piece." So what's the reason she didn't publish in those journals the previous 13 years when she was post-phd? It's funny that she rules out IS based on her research since she studies 'Asian security' and that's an IS staple. Seems like she's willing to blame the fact that she publishes mostly in fourth-tier journals on everything but herself.

So she's no longer able to publish in journals she was never able to publish in? how tragic.
Between the two ISQ editors the best hits are JCR, ISQ, and BJPS. This isn't quite a SC editing APSR level of underqualification but pretty damn close.
Worse is that 2/3 of that is BP. KW has two JPRs (one is a data paper) and one JCR. Rest is mostly from journals that don't even have impact factors. That's about as bad as SC at APSR.

Why the nays? All these things happened.
Nexon may be a weird annoying person (hence social media bickering and articles on Tom Clancy) but at least he had the research chops to run a decent journal (APSR, IO, ISQ).
Maybe the chops were slightly better than the current team, but he didn't run it well. At all.

You folks are overlooking the fact that it was a competitive process. Hate on them all you want but it isn’t their fault the journal can’t attract a more accomplished editorial team.

Luckily she has people on twitter that will tell her she is fantastic to her face, while talking behind her back at conferences. I've heard some of the same people encouraging her on twitter say the meanest things about her in real life.
