Now we have confirmation trump had intel warning about severity of the virus threat, but he chose to ignore the intel, believe China, and downplay the virus for weeks and weeks.
It's official: Trump had intel about virus and ignored it.

Thinly sourced story with leaks from the deep state.
Fail.Or alternatively we just listen to his quotes on live tv, which all say the same thing as the article.
Or are direct quotes "thinly sourced" too? It's a fake story from the Amazon Post.
You know this but you don't care.
-
What specifically in the story do you object to—besides the fact that it further exposes Trump’s astonishing failure to act?
The anonymous sourcing saying things without evidenceWhat do you think is incorrect, though? Do you doubt that Trump had early intel?
I think he did act too late. I think he downplayed it early partly to avoid panic. I think the steps he's taken lately have been great, but I wish he did them in February. I also think China tried a cover up.
As you can see, the issue isn't black and white like the Amazon Post wants you to think
-
What do you think is incorrect in the Post story? It was pretty explicit that intel told Trump that China was hiding the seriousness of the situation. And then he did the same.
What great steps has Trump taken lately?I don't trust anonymous sources from the deep state.
These were the same people pumping up the Russia hysteria which turned out to be a huge nothing burger

1. That the reports were ominous. And of course we can't see them because they're classified, so Amazon is relying on Trump hating sources to tell the truth.
For example:"The intelligence reports didn’t predict when the virus might land on U.S. shores or recommend particular steps that public health officials should take... and warned that Chinese officials appeared to be minimizing the severity of the outbreak"
Does that sound ominous to you?
"the reports and warnings painted an early picture of a virus that could require governments to take swift actions to contain it. "
Lol. Could? Sounds like they nailed it.
"spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe sensitive information."
Of course.
"said officials familiar with the reports."
Sure.
“In January, there was obviously a lot of chatter,” the official said.
Whoa, chatter!? Chatter is definitely a sign of impending soon!
"according to two senior administration officials"
Again with unnamed officials? Same ones or different?
"Kadlec didn’t provide specific recommendations"
Oh ok. But he was taking it seriously?
"Some of Trump’s advisers encouraged him to be tougher on China"
Is this what woke people call gaslighting?
In sum, I completely reject the "reporting" based on anonymous sources and classified reports that the deep state was giving serious warnings that were ignored
-
Why do you doubt that US intel knew about a serious outbreak in January? Do you think they aren’t good enough to notice that Dr. Li’s warning was blowing up all over Chinese forums shortly after he released the info on Dec. 30?
Because there is no evidence of it.
It sounds like you’re assuming that US intel is so incompetent that it doesn’t monitor trending topics on Chinese forums. Is that right?

Pretty much yeah.

So, there was evidence of a serious crisis and Trump acted too late. But somehow he's not responsible? Its amazing how the dissemblers and apologists for Trump never think anything is his fault, its like they have no idea what the job of a president is. Its not some sort of "deep state" conspiracy to expect a president to respond to documented dangers or show vision in understanding the situation. But that's not what Trump did, he denied it for a good 6 weeks -- being president means being honest and inspiring, rather than wasting time bristling and boasting. This news report is not some sort of "aha" moment, its apparent Trump knows how to bluster, not lead, and this time his delusions are getting people killed. This isn't a conspiracy revealed, this is his vanity showcased.
