Thoughts and prayers for your article rejection

Why - I mean really, *why???* - do people feel the need to talk about stuff like this on Twitter? If your paper gets rejected, look at the comments and revise based on the helpful ones. If there are no helpful ones, well... that's probably because your bruised ego is getting in the way of being able to see them.
Academic Twitter is filled with narcissistic children.
Why do people feel a need to share all of their thoughts and feelings on social media. I'm a private person; i will never understand.
freedom of speech? you are free not to read/listen his tweets.
That wasn't the question. Helene was not asking about the legal environment that allows for it. Helene was asking what it is that compels people to air their dirty laundry in public in such a shameful and, frankly, gormless manner.
I have to say, the replies are shockingly supportive and wholesome. There are always some trolls who jump in to mock such tweets, not here. Amazing.
That's a little sad. While I don't approve of trolling, this sort of public whinging about how hard it is to be part of a privileged elite should be discouraged.
It seems like he was on a lucky streak and is just now realizing how hard it is for most people to publish in top journals even when they put in a lot of work to make sure the work has no glaring holes.
In the old days, men would handle situations like this one by grabbing beer with their boys and venting. Now they throw tantrums on social media like little girls. Equality.
Were little girls on social media throwing tantrums in the old days?
He is the first person I've ever heard of in academia who believes their amazing paper is better than what the reviewers thought. He's also the first person I've ever heard of getting a paper rejected and had reviewers that do so in bad faith. I wonder if this has happened to anyone else?
The fact that he views sending his work to midtiers as some kind of earth-shattering attack on his self concept is really sad. I actually feel bad for the guy.
Like, I’m sure this paper will be published in PB, PSRM, or POQ. Do you really think you’re above these outlets?
Yeah that’s what I was confused about. It’s normal to be upset about a rejection, or believe that reviewers were acting in bad faith (sometimes they are). But to say that your time, $$$ and energy has gone to waste is really weird.
