Lots of top depts have associates without tenure. You start as an assistant, then move to associate without tenure, then associate with tenure, then full professor.

If you're in IR, what's your Urpelainen number? Urpelainen has an Urpelainen number of zero. Anybody else's Urpelainen number is k + 1 where k is the lowest Urpelainen number of any coauthor.

So what? You are going to detract from his 20 or so solo efforts because he also has a ton of co-authored stuff?
Before y'all grad flakes get too excited, I think you'll find the vast majority of his articles are co-authored.

Super nice guy - always has time for a beer or coffee even though I wouldn't be worthy of compiling his data. The perfect antithesis to the majority of those in our profession who can become total arseholes upon some modicum of success. As I side note, I wonder what the editors at BJPS think about the fact that one of his articles is going to be in every issue they publish for the next 3 years.
I published in one of the same journals as he did and I'm only an ABD. Does that make me smart too?
