Let's say I'm a white female who:
1. Is a PhD candidate in a top-30 political science department;
2. I study the criminal justice system and have done volunteer work at a local prison.
3. In the course of this prison volunteer work, I met a prisoner (well, technically, I met many prisoners, but you know what I mean...)
4. Of course, prison rules forbid fraternizing between prisoners and volunteers, so of course I have to make a point of showing how unfair and unjust such rules are.
5. Did I mention that I'm a white, upper-class female, so I'm basically I have no claim to victimization on my own?
6. But it's so unjust that prison rules forbid me from even visiting my prisoner-boyfriend, simply because I met him as a prison volunteer. So unjust!
7. So I tell everyone about my predicament and about my relationship with a prisoner, because what could be more woke?
8. No one cares or pays any attention, so I have to up the ante.
9. During the middle of the pandemic, we decide we want to get married. In prison. Even though no visitors are allowed in prison because of the pandemic.
10. This means even more unjust prison rules that are keeping me from my boyfriend/fiance. Clearly, I'm a victim!
