My attorney wife would tell you all to run like heck from the legal profession.
They're as oversupplied with new people as we are, and her firm is hiring on new people that are basically the equivalent of VAP and adjunct attorneys.this shows you know nothing about the legal field (unless your wife is not working in big law, in which case, she's nonrelevant). all V100 firms treat associates like adjunct attorneys. key difference is we get paid lockstep $214K starting with annual increments while VAP and adjunct professors get paid peanuts.

Sure buddy. I'm the one who knows nothing about the profession......

okay then you would know:
1. V100 firms usually pay Cravath scale (214K starting with annual increments of $20-40K depending on year.2. Each of the T14 law schools send more than 50% of their cohort into BL; Columbia alone sends 70%. What are the TT-placement histories for the T10 PhD program equivalents?
3. There is no such thing as "TT-attorneys" or "adjunct attorneys"; there's partners and then there's associates (who, again, are all treated like sh*t but compensated nicely).
in which case, you wouldn't be using the linguistic antics of a 14 year old to imply that I've said something factually incorrect.

AH, so you're the equivalent of the out of touch Harvard prof then. Congrats.
I still don't buy it. You're far too defensive for a high-powered attorney who for inexplicable reasons came to punch down at a bunch of gradstudents... Not even the out of touch Harvard profs. do that.

I got paid to go to school for six years (and my wife's very comfortable salary kept us in a lovely home with ample summer vacations abroad the entire time) and I'mm starting my dream job in the fall, actually (all of that coming from a T50 program). And you know what? I feel no need to go make fun of gradstudents. I feel happy and free.

someone paid you to go to undergrad for six years? either that or you can't read (not sure which looks worse).

the ego that seeps through your low-iq comments is sorely mismatched by the fact that you're leeching off your "wife," you've struck out of academia, and your tacky attempt to take a moral high ground.

Actually someone paid me to go to undergrad for 4 years (well a full scholarship at least). Then paid for an MBA, worked for 5 years, and then returned to a PhD program where I was paid to go to school for 6 more years if you must know.
And I don't have to "attempt" to take the moral highground. If you are what you claim to be, you came to a website frequented by grad students and on very rare occasions by the passing assistant professor. You've clearly forfeited any highground you think you've ever held, moral or otherwise, long ago.
I AM sorry though, that your high-powered career is so unfulfilling that you feel the need to come hide behind an anonymous webforum to make yourself feel better by trying to drag others down.
Cheers friend. My panel is starting.
