   What I don’t understand: why anyone would accept a job teaching politics at a southern public university right now. GOP-led legislatures are destroying those university systems and making a mockery of intellectual freedom.

   I guess any employment is better than none. But those universities are in dire shape.

    SB is the about the furthest thing from a "confederate" one can find. Much more at home in Oxford, Montreal...the good news is Nikki Haley banned public displays of the confederate flag.

    How is it possible that someone like GO or BT win tenure track and tenured lines having published embarrassingly little while someone with the publication record of SB had a very hard time getting a tenure track and ended up far down the ladder?
