Tom Holland’s translation of Herodotus is next.
I’ve read a couple of chapters. It’s fun because TH’s unbridled enthusiasm for old H and history-as-storytelling comes through. But do note this funny amazon review:
“I am exaggerating but it’s almost like Ancient Greek people went round fist bumping and saying “innit”.”
