Lately they started diversifying by hiring people with BAs from Yale or Chicago instead of Oxbridge. Basically Oxford PT is a bunch of posh people who tell each other how smart they are without ever having to be confronted with unpedigreed smart people.

Academic searches take considerable time, capital, and energy. Why would they waste their time with people who don't have the appropriate pedigree?
