I got into Sceinces Po and am thinking of going. How is the degree looked at in the US. I probably don't want to stay in France. ALthough, that might be OK.
Sciences Po

You mean a PhD from Sciences Po? Chances are close to zero of getting good tenure track job in the US. But much of that is selection, different networks, etc
Yes, PhD. Ok. Well. I have a passport from a EU country so I really don't mind staying in europe. Or even Canada. But Canada would suck.

Why on earth are you applying to places you know nothing about and don't want to attend?
I want to go to France. The Denver thing was because I like to ski. But it seems like you can get to some of the areas in the French Alps just as easy from Paris. I don't think Denver has trains to Vail and stuff.

I always wanted to go to France, too. Last year my wife and I took a Paris vacation. If you want to visit France, that seems like a wiser course, for reasons I would assume are obvious.
(I enjoy skiing too, but that seems like a poor reason to attend a 4th rate degree mill with no funding. It doesn't even come with free lift tickets.)

This is some grade-A trolling right here. I salute you.

On the off-chance you are serious, Sciences Po is a famous and highly-regarded school, but it is not connected to the US and will not prepare you for the US professoriate. French academia is brutal even for French people, and it sounds like you are not French. So going there for a PhD as an American is a risky move.
DU is also risky, because it's not famous and not highly-regarded, anywhere.
Pick your poison.

OP:
You admit to having no idea what you're doing. Enrolling in any phd program is likely to be a huge mistake for you right now. Do something else for a while until you figure out what you want to do with your life. You will regret this otherwise. I'm not saying this to be mean.
