   This is on the search committee, not the applicant. No need to be so pointed toward the applicant.

   The person failed to submit letters of recommendation. Note it is not a letter, but letters.
   The search committee and the Dept moved forward the person all the way without her letters. Note her references failed to write a letter on her half, and the Dept did not follow the Guidelines and Procedures for Academic Appointments (https://diversity.illinois.edu/NewSearchManual/search_guidelines_and_procedures.pdf).

   I concur. Again, it is not about individuals including the applicant, but about Dept dysfunction.

   You know the Dept went against Choi's tenure and promotion to associate professor despite the fact that he was/is the most productive faculty in the Department.

   And then the Dept went against Choi's promotion to full professor despite the fact that he was/is the most productive faculty.

   And also the Dept removed Choi's field of International Relations from the core areas of specialty in the graduate program despite the fact that he was/is the most productive faculty.

   I wonder why "Choi has difficulty with [illegitimate] authority and with being a team player", and has sued the Dept.

   I guess when the court verdict comes in, we all know who have been lying all along.

   I've met Choi and he was a nice and reasonable person. I've also met many of the other people at UIC BV/AP/ST/SE....and they clearly have personality and professionalism issues.

    "Cancelled due to the incompetency/violations of the Department Head EM and Committee Chair AF"

    It was posted a while ago, deleted a week later, and re-posted today.

    Please, change the wording to "The illegal hiring practice caused higher-ups to rescind the offer decisions made by the dept."

    Choi gave out negative grades (literally less than "zero") for papers, which is why he was stripped of the stats course.
    This is freaking awesome, no matter if true or not. Once I get tenure I'm going to start doing this.

    In one grad class I was in, some of us drew in a new oval on the teaching evaluation form to create a negative evaluation score, but we later doubted it was read by the machine correctly.

    The rumor has it that the incomplete applicant received an offer, which made a well-respected senior furious and thus was rescinded later.
