Show me another “advanced AP” who got tenure in 1 year or gtfo
Sometimes I wonder the professionalization of some on here. He didn’t ‘get tenure in 1 year.’ He was hired as an advanced assistant from Princeton.
You people are not very bright. His PhD was in 2000 and he got tenure in 2007. Standard clock.
He was an untenured associate at MIT from 2004-07, which is standard for them. He did not start a new clock at MIT, but that is also fairly standard. Depends on the person and the situation. Nothing crazy here.

1. It's actually quite common for advanced assistants to go up a year after a move (usually part of the negotiation).
2. FWIW AB became an untenured Associate after a year. He only got tenure 3 years later.

Really, it's just about being a widget-factory? He has plenty of publications. He has never had much of anything to say, but THAT doesn't bother you, b/c you don't read, you just tote up articles and look at where they were published. Seriously, why even be in this field if you have no interest in substance?
Yup. That's a real slacker vitae right there
https://berinsky.mit.edu/sites/default/files/images/vitae.pdfHe’s barely averaged one real pub a year over 20+ years despite having more resources/RAs than anyone.
