What a silly thing to say. Literally the only reason anyone is on this wretched site is to hear rumors of who got what job *before* everyone finds out in the fall.
If it's so important for you to know who got the job (I have no idea why, you know at this point it wasn't you), you should check the department website in the Fall.
Exactly! Also, departments should announce who their candidate is even though the person has not accepted the offer yet. I have a feeling that a few people were offered several jobs and they are using them for negotiation rather than choosing one and rejecting others. Imagine 1 person, let's say X, got 7 offers. And X is very professional, asking additional time from each. And then, uses these offers for negotiation. It will never end. Two more weeks please... If you are the second candidate, they might call you if it is not too late. Or maybe the second also accepted a job. Now, the third. At the end, we won't see anyone in most departments' pages in the Fall.

I'm so puzzled by this. What do you think this information is going to do for you? How could it possibly improve your life?
If you think the only reason why people seek information is to improve their life, boy do I have some news for you!
