Just strange to me to see him attacked for not liking where he lives. Maybe be likes big cities, maybe he has some family concerns, maybe it is political. I don't know, but acting like someone having a geographic preference is crazy is really weird.
This guy who just announced he's quitting

No one is attacking for "not liking where he lives."
Weird strawman

I hope he finds happiness. The problem with many in academia is that they expect their jobs or places of residence to make the instantly happy and that's just not the way it works. Those things can contribute to happiness but it must come from inside.
finding inner happiness? you hear yourself? you think that's the problem?

Yeah, I do think that's the problem. There are downsides to all jobs and places we live. I know some places are worse than others and some colleagues are harder to deal with than others but when we look for happiness thru external validation it just doesn't work. I don't know what his struggles are and maybe he just desires to live in a place closer to family, etc. However, wherever he goes there are going to be bad politicians, deadlines, bills, etc. And, someone that feels the need to post on Twitter certainly is seeking some external validation. Most of us would just share that with family or colleagues and not feel the need to post it publicly.

Can you all really not see why he would do this? He is getting responses from all kinds of people in alt-ac willing to help him out. These people can't all be personal friends of his. I'm just guessing, but it seems like this is an effort to get some help from people and it worked.

He’s being criticized for attempting to start a twitter cancel mob calling for one of his departmental colleagues to be fired.
-
That's why people are referring to his weight? Way to take the high road.

And other top 20 places.
she is interviewing at UCLA.
This is seriously embarrassing. Even for ubc
and there is someone like this https://politics.ubc.ca/profile/genevieve-bates/
I don't see the problem? 1 pub with an advisor. Female doing formal theory. She's at a mediocre place with a mediocre record out of grad school. -

The f/at posting is just a test to see who’s easily distracted from the core issue. You…didn’t pass.f4ls3 i legit think the f4tn355 is an issue.
It’s his personal problem. Him riling up a cancel mob against a colleague on twitter is a problem for his dept, his school, and anyone considering hiring him.

Weigh to take it

He’s being criticized for attempting to start a twitter cancel mob calling for one of his departmental colleagues to be fired.someone said "strange to me to see him attacked for not liking where he lives" and someone pointed out he is not being criticized for that but "attempting to start a twitter cancel mob calling for one of his departmental colleagues to be fired." What does weight have to do with that?
LOL "Take the high road." Holier than thou much?

Oops. Just one interview. Also rents and didn’t buy before the latest surge. Might be behind some of this. Boise is fine for even moderate liberals. There are Democrats who get elected to the state legislature. What makes Boise worse than Nashville or Atlanta?
250 applications and one flyout doesn’t make sense. What’s the real story?
