Who are the top quant instructors other than AE at DPIR?
Toxic department culture in LSE or Oxbridge?
-
Placement is very important for choice of program.
But DPIR refuse to release their placement data.
Jesus. For the final time, DPIR will teach you, but at DPIR placement is up to the student and emphatically not up to the department.DPIR isn't going to work on placement of students. It's just not something DPIR do. The student him or herself does that not the department.

Oxford actually trains and mentors PhD stidents and supports them materially. Same for faculty: Oxford regularly steals away eopke from LSE, but the opposite is rare. But the most important question for prospective PhD students is placement. Has LSE IR or Gov ever placed a student well? In the US?
No, LSE is not like Columbia or NYU, as much as you wish.LSE places its PhDs quite well - this year placed a couple at top US schools. Doubt if Oxford managed that.
-
LSE placed zero this year so far on the US market (or EVER). Kiddo, if you wanna boost your school, check the schedule of the US market.

In the USA, maybe. In the UK, the panel chair would hang up to you and report the call to HR, which would require a report. I know. This has happened in my uni.
Woah woah, hold on. I should be asking my advisor to call the search committee chair between the skype interview and the shortlisting? Really?
