Honestly, I say chances are better than even that Brunet made the whole email up. I know both those editors. They don't write that way, they don't think that way. The language used in that alleged email borders on the silly. For example, no editor would say anything like "we respect your credentials" to a guy like SU.

Look, you've hooked your star to a ly.ing, incom.petent, cipher. He's had every opportunity to step up and do this. With his training, he should have ample skills to do it. He just won't, and he's found every possible excuse to avoid doing it. Heck, he can't even get punting on this down right.

He doesn't put forth any effort for anything unless he's paid, and that follows logically from the fact that he's employed.
Where as you and Karl are unemployables, and hence the logical implications is that you'll spend 18hrs/day putting in time trying to take down Enos?
Have you considered the possibility that there might be other reasons for your unemployability beyond being a white maIe in Canada?

^you seem worried. I have no idea if Enos faked his data or not but I do know that
1. there is a detailed report saying he did and even the experts who looked at it found some patterns problematic (but not necessarily evidence of fraud)
2. Enos has declined to address the main accusation even though he addressed an accusation about the IP addresses in his other paper (thus invalidating his excuse for not addressing this accusation, which was in fact much better documented)
3. The latest is that a competent ex-tenured professor has looked at the report and found it credible enough to ask Lawless and Dolan to investigate. Their stonewalling is unsurprising. But SU is not a right-wing loon like Karl and has also insulted Karl on twitter.
All in all, I'd say the people on here who suspect something is wrong with the work are not crazy for having these suspicions even if Karl and his posse are pathetic. -

Hey Kathy and Jen, since you admitted you visit this forum. You DO have access to data and analysis that allows you to verify the claims in the report. What you actually meant is this:

He simply doesn't have the intelligence, skills, or knowledge, to do a proper and accurate replication even though very little of each would be required.
Perhaps, even most importantly, he would risk finding out that his analysis doesn't support any of his claims that were based on the anonymous report. Karl's mental illness prevents him at all costs from admitting his mistakes or taking back his words. This would be too risky for him to do.
