Publications are the threshold of entry onto the long list, then we actually read submitted writing samples, the cover letters, letters of rec. And when you get to campus all those 1-on-1 interviews count for A LOT.
I think a lot of dudes on here have some interpersonal dysfunction and so they really need to believe that CVs get hired and not people.
