Just checked back over the foundational literature, realized that an overwhelming majority of faculty are at Stanford-also their placements destroyed Harvard this year and last. Does Harvard actually do anything better than them now?
What does Harvard beat Stanford at?

Theory. Stanford barely invests in it.

Harvard doesn't invest in students as much. It's a lot more sink-or-swim there. While Harvard has more stars (not that S does not), the average is pulled down by sinkers. This is really impactful when considering how many more grad students Harvard has. Though I do know PSR isn't listing all Harvard and fewer went on the market this year than many years. Both are genuinely great departments but it's much harder day-to-day at H than S.

Cambridge best uni press in every field. Oxbridgers speak with a posh accent and live in castles - so they win on cultural capital. On name brand Harvard only wins in the US
Lmao is it 1750?
By those criteria Oxbridge beats all of you
a) name brand
b) cultural capital
c) university press (at least in our field)
