It’s such a trivial event and it’s always there next year. Do people really care to hear about which panels (which they will not attend) got accepted.
When did getting accepted to APSA become a thing to celebrate/announce

It IS a big deal if you are a grad student at a #40-#80 ranked program. Even your advisor can't get a proposal accepted
Acceptances are coin flips for much of the discipline. There are the people who will always be accepted. There are the people who will almost always be rejected, but for most it's luck of the draw. In my subfield, I was in the coinflip category up until 5 years ago when I became a familiar face.
I get why a grad student would be excited about getting to go to APSA. What doesn't make sense is bragging about it like it's an accomplishment.
