When you hear “Ivy +”, what is the set of schools you think of?
-
If I were to make an Ivy + category it would be schools like Chicago Stanford and MIT, schools that are excellent but in different athletic conferences and without a colonial history.
But self-respecting institutions like those would never resort to such asinine branding. So when I hear Ivy+ I think of above-average non-elite schools like UVA that are uniquely desperate to brand themselves in such a way.

I mean why go there when Villanova and Drexel are next door?
