If it is, will people stop playing it?
Will chess ever be solved?

Just because there are "chess problems" does not mean that chess itself is a problem.
I mean will there ever be a theoretical best strategy? as with tictactoe.Seems very unlikely.
There are under 200 permutations of possible tictactoe full game sequences. There are nearly 750 million permutations of possible chess full game sequences. What do you think?

As I said, seems very unlikely.

You're a few orders of magnitude off for both games. If there were 750 million chess sequences, it would have been solved years ago. For reference, if you multiply the number of atoms in the universe, times the number of grains of sand on earth, the number of possible chess games is still larger than that. And that's using FIDE rules for a draw.
