this is crazy
to not be downright *embarrassed* about this level of productivity, in obscure places?
Al coauthored articles with the same person. How do we know she was the initiator? We can't rule out freeriding.
Then women complain they have it hard in academia. Maybe at one time, but not this 21st century. Show me a white man that gets tenured with such a poor record. You can't.
In the last 5 years, I have promoted or granted tenure to many women. I can categorically state, now I am retired, none of them would have been successful if male.
You didn't have the spine to state this categorically on an anonymous website before you retired? Hahahahahahahaha, what a bum.
mediocre?! 5 pubs in 6 years is mediocre?
wat
yes. to be clear, it's not that outrageous. 3 papers and 2 chapters all co-authored is mediocre, and good enough for a mediocre place.
my best grad students have better records when the hit the market. my lesser ones may have about 40% of that record (e.g., one chapter and one peer reviewed article) by the time they hit the market.
but my point is that there isn't much to see here. if she'd received tenure at a top place, or even a PhD granting place, then it's more eyebrow raising.
if you look at their recent hire (JCP), he has a record that's comparable to EF, and his PhD is from 2018.
But, whatevs. Again, it's TCU.
ok,I looked her up.
1. That is from a CV put online in 2016. That's not her record for tenure.
2. She finished her PhD in 2014. That's a good record for two years post phd.
3. She had a baby so likely got a year on her clock. Or maybe she didn't take it? But people on psr never seem to acknowledge this. Gestating, birthing, and parenting a human being takes a hit on your steady productivity.
ok,I looked her up.
1. That is from a CV put online in 2016. That's not her record for tenure. This is true. I checked on Google Scholar and she has five co-authored journal articles (one in 2018 and one earlier this year).
"Lock her up! Lock her up!"
Norbert, those are your facts. PSR has its own facts, and PSR's facts say her record isn't tenurable. The most important fact to the people on here is that they want to:
"Lock her up! Lock her up!"
A man would not get tenure with this kind of record, even at a place like TCU. She has literally published nothing that anyone will remember or cite five years from now. She will now use her tenure to spend even more time on twitter complaining about sexism and will publish next to nothing going forward (see, e.g., CM).
